Mount Elgon Trust (MET) is committed to providing quality education, with its schools jointly run by MET, Mount Elgon Orchards (the primary sponsor), the Kenya National Government, and the County Government of Trans-Nzoia. Andersen Primary School (APS), founded in 1997, started with the goal of educating the children of farm workers and has since grown to serve a wider community.

Located on the farm, APS initially served the children of farm workers but gradually expanded to include learners from surrounding communities. After MET was established in 2005 and land was purchased for the Trust in 2008, the new APS was built in 2014 to cater to the entire community. With this new development, the school quickly grew from 800 to 1,200 learners. Today, APS serves 1,480 learners, aged 3 to 14 years, and has 44 teachers.

APS embraces the new Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) with three main sections:
APS has consistently ranked among the top academically in Endebess Sub-County. APS also excels in extra-curricular activities. In 2024, APS’s music and drama teams performed at the State House Gala dinner in front of the president and other dignitaries, highlighting the school’s commitment to developing well-rounded learners.
