Andersen Medical Centre collaborates with the social workers of Mount Elgon Trust and community health workers from the region to run mobile clinics twice a month.
Together, nurses and clinical officers travel to community centres, schools, and open gathering spaces to bring medical care directly to those who need it most — many of whom cannot afford transport to a hospital, medical insurance, or treatment costs.
These clinics reach remote and underserved communities, providing vaccinations, treating infections and jiggers, dispensing medications, and arranging hospital referrals when necessary. Each session serves over 100 patients, while social workers work alongside the medical team to identify broader support needs within the community.
